Every family deserves a safe home. Join us in ensuring that affordable housing is a reality for our communities, not just a dream.
Read TopicHart 2028 supports housing that working families can actually afford, with more homes, fairer rents, stronger neighborhoods, and real paths to ownership. We believe people should be able to live near work, raise a family, stay in their community, and build stability.
Every action helps more people learn, organize, show up, and support the work behind Housing.
Housing should be a foundation for a stable life. Right now, too many families are being priced out of the communities they call home. Rent is too high, homeownership feels out of reach, interest rates have made buying harder, and young people are wondering if they will ever be able to afford the kind of life their parents worked for.
Hart 2028 supports a housing agenda that lowers costs, increases supply, protects renters, and helps more families become homeowners. We need to build more homes people can actually afford, cut unnecessary barriers that slow down responsible development, and support communities that are growing without pushing out the people who already live there.
We also need to take on the forces making housing less fair. Corporate investors should not be allowed to buy up neighborhoods, drive up prices, and treat homes like financial assets instead of places for families to live. Renters deserve basic protections, clear rules, safe housing, and relief from unfair fees, sudden hikes, and neglectful landlords.
Homeownership must become possible again for working families. That means supporting first time buyers, expanding access to affordable mortgages, helping with down payments, increasing starter homes, and making sure families are not locked out by rising costs, low inventory, or unfair lending practices.
Hart 2028 also believes housing policy should strengthen communities. We need more affordable apartments, starter homes, senior housing, workforce housing, and supportive housing for people facing homelessness. We should invest in neighborhoods with good schools, transportation, parks, public safety, and access to jobs.
Housing is about dignity, security, and opportunity. No one working full time should be unable to afford a safe place to live. Hart 2028 will fight for a housing system that lowers costs, expands supply, protects families, and gives more people a real chance to build a future.
